A warrant has been issued by the Christchurch Bench for the apprehension of James McDonald, charged with obtaining money from Wm. Meddings, of Papanui, by means of a valueless cheque. A warrant has been issued by the Christchurch Bench for the apprehension of one re ter Eowe, charged with larceny as a bailee. He is an Englishman, about 20 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, dark complexion, very little whiskers or beard; dressed in dark clothes and billycock hat. Since arrested.

A warrant has been issued by the Hokitika Bench for the apprehension of George Terry, charged with stealing the sum of £2 15s. from the person of Thomas Preston. Terry is an Irishman, 25 years old, 5 feet G or 7 inches high, stout build, sallow complexion, dark brown hair, whiskers and moustache ; wore Crimean shirt and moleskin trousers; was drinking with Preston at the “ Bull and Mouth ” Hotel, Eevell-street, on the evening of the Bth ult., when he committed the offence.
