A Waekant has been issued by the Bench at Auckland for the arrest ofjJamsis O'Mcitf, for that he hath been guilty of perjury by wilfully taking a false oath to a return made in pursuance of the Banker’s Beturns Act, 1858. The offender is about 28 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, complexion fresh, hair light brown, build medium, gentlemanly appearance, weak eyes, and usually wears glasses.

A Waeeant has been issued by the Christchurch Bench, for the apprehension of one David or Dan Turner, charged with larceny of an order for the sum of £3 12s. from Benjamin Bulmer, Bakaia Forks. He is 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, stout build, fair hair, whiskers and moustache; forehead high and broad, eyes hazel, set far apart; high cheek bones, nose broken, teeth discoloured and one missing ; very talkative, and has rather a hoarse voice and laugh; dressed in grey jumper, tweed trousers, and white billycock hat. When last seen carried his boots and pants on his swag. Crossed the Waitangi at the upper ferry on the 28th March, and stated he was going to McLean’s station in the Lindis Pass ; failing employment there, he would go on to the Lake Country.

Infoemation is requested respecting a man named “ Jim ” who joined a party of Chinese at Arahura, about the 3rd or 4th February, and travelled with them to McEae’s Accommodation House, Coal Track, West Coast Boad, since when no clue to his whereabouts has been found. Description, 5 feet 6or 7 inches, brown hair, light sandy beard and moustache; the first tooth on the right side of lower jaw missing, wore a coat and vest of fine blue cloth, nearly new. At Cass Eiver he put on a new pair of moleskin trousers ; had in his possession a pair of double grey blankets with two holes worn in the centre, a single blue blanket, a tin billy with one of the lugs broken off, with a piece of telegraph wire for a handle. Jim’s feet were sore with travelling, and to allow him to walk with ease his boots were cut across the toes.

Jim is requested to report himself at the nearest police station, personally or by letter. The members of the force throughout the province are requested to pay particular attention to this notice.
