Stolen from near the workshop of Mr. Wilson, Timaru, some time between the 12th and 17th March instant, two small blocks of wood, about one foot each in length and eight inches thick, and two pieces of planking, twelve feet long and about nine inches wide. —18th March, 1864.

Stolen from a building in course of erection in Co-lombo-street South, Christchurch, between 7 pan. the 28th and 7 aan. the 29th February last, the property of George Prudence of the Windmill Boad, a basket of carpenter’s tools, consisting of a set of planes, four hand saws, one sash filister, two augurs, one moulding plane, four chisels, three hammers, and three gimblets. The basket was new, same as those commonly used by carpenters for holding their tools. — 3rd March, 1864.

A warrant has been issued by the Akaroa Bench for the apprehension of Denis Garrey, charged with making use of threatening language to Peter Edwards, on the 7th of February last. He is de■scribed as being about 34 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, brown eyes, brown hair, moustache, and whiskers worn under chin; he wore cord trousers and plaid jumper.—26th March, 1864.

A ware ant has been issued by the Christchurch Bench for the apprehension of a coloured man, named King, charged with having, on the 20th inst., at Christchurch, committed an assault, with intent to commit a rape, on a child 14 years of age, named McConnell. He is an American black, about 5 feet 6 inches high, stout build, full heavy features ; wore dark coat and trousers, dark billy-cock hat. Speaks good English.

On the night of the 18th instant, some person or persons took a buggy from a shed at Casterton, Heathcote Yalley, the residence of George Buckley, Esq., and threw it into a pond of water, about 20 yards distant. No reason can be assigned. —18th March, 1864.

Charles James, of Christchurch, was met, in Hagley Park, by two men who assaulted him and knocked him down. Mr. James can give no description of' them, except that they were Irish, and of rather stout build; one wore dark clothes, the other light colour, like moleskin. Both appeared to be drunk. — 24th March, 1864.
