CATTLE FAIR

SALE AT FRANKTON Messrs G. W. Vercoe and Co.. Ltd., report on the special cattle fair held at Frankton as follows:—Among Ihe entries was a line of 71 3-year-old P.A. steers offered on account of Mr F. C. Johnstone, Waitetuna. These were sold under keen competition at prices ranging from £l3 to £ls ss. A line of 80 similar bred cattle from Mr Halliburton Johnstone, Whatawhata, were smaller cattle in good condition. These were keenly sought at prices from £l2 to £l4 9s, Mr G. A. Johnstone, of Waitetuna, sold two pens at £l3 3s and £ll 13s respectively. Offered on account of Messrs Ellingham and Peacocke, Orini, was a line of twoyear steers which sold at prices up to £l3 10s for the tops, others £lO 15s to £ll 3s, with small sorts from £8 10s to £9 10s. Messrs Johnstone Bros., of Whatawhata, sent forward an excellent entry of yearling P.A. steers which were quitted at prices from £8 2s 6d to £9 7s. Small yearling P.A. heifers sold from , £5 Is to £5 10s with culls at £4 4s. TE KAUWHATA SALE Messrs G. W. Store and boner cows met with a keen sale at ruling values. The advertised entry of stationbred cattle brought forward a good bench of buyers and a most satisfactory clearance was effected.
