MAORI SENTENCED
TWO YEARS’ IMPRISONMENT A sentence of two years’ imprisonment with hard labour was imposed by Mr Justice Finlay in the Supreme Court on Kruger Matenga, a Maori, on charges of causing actual bodily harm with intent to maim and with robbery with violence. For breaking and theft, Joe Wairau, a Maori, labourer, was sentenced to two years’ reformative detention.
