AMERICAN PLANES ATTACKED WASHINGTON, Aug. 17 Four nominators living over Tokyo Bay area at noon today on a photographic mission were attacked by 10 Japanese fighters and by moderate to intense flak, reports an American Press correspondent on Okinawa. One nominator was badly shot up but the crew was not injured. Two fighters were sent down smoking and were probably destroyed. FIRST FURLOUGH DRAFT MEN WELLINGTON. Saturday The Prime Minister announced today that the Government had decided that now that hostilities had ceased Gazette notices under which certain members of the first furlough draft had been dismissed should be cancelled and that the men concerned would be normally discharged from the forces as from the date of the original dismissal. These men would become eligible for rehabilitation and other benefits which up to the present had been denied them.
