P. and T. Women Meet The monthly meeting of the Post and Telegraph Women’s Association was held in the Y.W.C.A. rooms on Thursday, August 2. Mrs Nodder presided over a good attendance and the afternoon was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The afternoon was spent with the usual meeting procedure and competitions. Songs were rendered by Mrs Coltman, accompanied by Mrs Grant. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Hinkley, Hurrell and Paice. Hamilton Ladies’ Golf Club On Monday, August 6, the first round of the captain’s trophy, a bogey eclectic was played. The early players had the best of the weather, the later ones finishing in havy rain. Miss Wilkinson put in the best score, 2 down, her 88 reducing her handicap Once again. Mrs Somerville was a close scorer with 3 down, and Mrs Mander, Mrs Yendell and Miss Maxwell, all followed with 4 down. Mrs Hounsell, finishing in heavy rain, gained her objective and put herself into the Junior Division with a 35 handicap. She will do better with better conditions. During the week Mrs L. Day put in a good score of 84 gross, and Mrs Chitty reduced her handicap by 2 points by putting in a card of 97. The final round of the Douglas Cup resulted in Mrs Seyb being the winner after giving Miss Bruce I'4 strokes. Miss Bruce gave Mrs Seyb a good game.
