BRAVE NEW ZEALANDERS AWARD OF GEORGE MEDAL (By Telegraph—Pres* Association) WELLINGTON, Friday The Minister of Defence, Mr Jones, has received advice of 25 awards to members of the Second New Zealand Fxpeditionarv Force. They include the George Medal, which in the military services is confined to acts of great bravery for which purely military honours are not normally granted. Details of the act of bravery which earned the George Medal for Comoral Herring are not yet known in New Zealand. He is the first member of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force to receive this medal.
