WEDDINGS
STEPHENS—TYLER The marriage was solemnised at First Presbyterian Church between Lillian Susan, only daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Tyler, Frankton, and Frank Horatio Thomas, second son of Mrs M. Stephens and the late Mr F. H. Stephens, Hamilton. The Rev. C. L. French officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of white pearl satin fashioned on slender lines, with the full skirt flaring out into a long scalloped train, trimmed with embroidered flowers. Her embroidered fine net veil fell from a pleated halo of net and orange blossom to form a second train and she carried a shower bouquet of white lilies, carnations, roses and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids, Miss Noela O’Donnell, of Auckland, and Miss Thelma Stephens, were dressed alike in sky blue silk taffeta, made on similar lines as the bride’s gown. They wore pink and blue flowers in their hair and carried shower bouquets of pink carnations, delphiniums, stocks and maidenhair fern. The best man was Leading-Air-craftman B. Curtis, of Napier, and the groomsman Mr T. Sands. A reception was held at the Centreway Tearooms, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, assisted by the mother of the bridegroom. The bride travelled in a clover frock, embroidered in wine, with a grey and wine check coat and wine accessories.
