RELEASE OF PRISONERS

MORE ARRIVE IN ENGLAND Mr and Mrs Harold Moreland, Newstead, have received a cablegram from their son, Private Reg. Moreland, stating that he is safe in England arfter four years as a prisoner of war in Germany. Advice has been received by Mr P. B. Bynon-Powell, of 38 Wellington Street, Hamilton East, that his son, Glyn Powell, of the 24th Auckland Battalion, has arrived in England after being interned in Germany for 3i years. Captain R. Penny, 21st Auckland Battalion, son of Mr and Mrs A. C. Penny, of McFarlane Street, Hamilton, who was captured in Greece and interned in Germany for four years, has arrived in England. Mr C. V. Carryer, of Rukuria, has been advised that his son, Corporal N. T. Carryer, has arrived in England from Stalag 344. Corporal Carryer was taken prisoner at El Alamein. Mrs E. D. Hurrell, of 16 Station Road, Claudelands, has received advice that her youngest son. Private Stanley H. Hurrell, who has been a prisoner of war since 1941, is safe in . England. Advice has been received by Mr and Mrs E. L. Watkins, of Dawson Street, Hamilton East, that their eldest son, Sapper E. B. Watkins, who was taken. prisoner in Greece in April, 1941, is safe in England. He had been an inmate of Stalag VIIIB and 344 camps in Germany. Warrant-Officer Charles Croall, son of Mr and Mrs C. Croall, of Hamilton, who was shot down in action over Hamburg in 1942, has been reported safe in England. He had been a prisoner for three years.
