FEWER TRAINED HORSES
VICTORIAN FOOD SHORTAGE MELBOURNE, May 15 Because of the acute shortage of fodder, racehorses in training in Victoria are to be reduced from 900 to 335. This will be done under a plan prepared by the Victorian Racing Club and approved by the State Cabinet. The plan will operate from June 1. Only horses which qualify under the plan will be allowed to race at registered meetings up to February 28. 1946. The introduction of a similar scheme is anticipated in Sydney where there are about 1000 horses in training.
