VICTORY LOAN
DISTRICT INVESTMENTS £418,459 TOTAL RECEIPTS The sum of £418,459, representing 31 per cent of the objective, had been subscribed to the Victory War Loan in the Waikato-King Country district at the end of the fiist two days. Receipts yesterday totalled £16,071. In the town of Hamilton receipts amounted to £4627, bi'.nging the total to £132,968, or 30 per cent of the objective. Yesterday’s receipts, total receipts and objective percentages at four other towns in the district are.— Huntly £490, £20,598, 35 per cent; Morrinsville £169, £21,035, 27 per cent; Ngaruawahia £1319, £11.537, 42 per cent; Putaruru £324, £14,438, 51 per cent. A substantial investment was made by an elderly man who approached the loan headquarters with a tin containing over £3OO in notes. The whole amount was invested in loan stock.
