NEWS OF CIVILIAN INTERNEE REPORTED SAFE IN MANILA Mr Boyd Sansom, who was interned by the Japanese in the Philippines, is now reported safe in Santo Tomas Camp, Manila. This news, the first for three years of Mr Sansom., was contained in a .two-page air-mail letter, dated February 12, and received this week by Mr R. A. Bygum, of Havelock North. In his letter, Mr Sansom states he is suffering from beri-beri and malnutrition and had lost weight from 13st to 7st. He was being cared for by the Americans and Red Cross and was hoping to return to Hastings soon. Mrs Boyd Sansom, who is a sister of Mrs Angus MacDonald (Hamilton), and her small son, who were also interned, were recently reported safe in the same camp.
