DEATH AT 102
RESIDENT OF TAURANGA AUCKLAND, Saturday The death has occurred of Mrs Isabella Bain Munro, aged 102, who lived until recently in Tauranga but entered an Onehunga convalescent home last Sunday. Mrs Munro was born at Lossiemouth, Scotland, on February 19, 1842, the birthplace also of the late Mr Ramsay Macdonald, a boyhood playmate of Mrs Munro'a children. In 1903 Mrs Munro and her husband, a ship’s officer, came to New Zealand, where Mr Munro established a shipwright’s business in Auckland. On his retirement from business the family lived at Lake Rotofti. Mr Munro died in 1918 and Mrs Munro is survival by a son and a daughter. There are’ five grandchildren and nine great-grandchild-ren. A son died last week.
