Mrs G. Head, Auckland, who has been the guest of her sister, Mrs H. M. Hammond, has left for Rotorua. Miss M. Lovel, Hamilton, is visiting Helennville.

Miss D. Menzies, Hamilton, is visiting Rotorua.

A flag match and L.G.U. medal were played at St. Andrew’s Hamilton Ladies’ Golf Club last Wednesday in fine weather with a veiy strong wind. Mrs J. Gamble, who played right to her handicap and carried the flag to the 18th hole, was the winner of the competition. The senior medal went to Miss E. Madeley, whose card read 89 —14—75. Mrs Gamble also won the junior medal and other good junior cards came from Mrs S. Bennett, 92—19—73, Mrs Sirl, 107—34—73, and Mrs G. Mills, 95—20—75. The following are the results in the quarter-finals of the Horton Cup: Mrs W. Waring beat Mrs B. Seyb, 3 up and 2; Mrs H. F. Mander beat Mrs D. Macdiarmid, 8 up and 6, Mrs C. Bryant beat Mrs J. A. Thomas, 4 up and 3; Mrs J. D. Joy beat Mrs N. R. Rawlings, 3 up and 2. The following are the results in the second round of the match-play competition played by the Saturday players: Mrs C. F. O’Connor beat Miss E. Madeley at the 20th; Miss G. Fuller beat Mrs G. Melvin 2 up; Miss Ensor beat Mrs A. E. Whitehouse, 3 up and 2.
