CARUSO EXECUTED

FORMER FASCIST POLICE CHIEF (Received Sept. 23, 11.30 a.m.) ROME, Sept. 22 Pietro Caruso, former Fascist police chief in Rome, who was found guilty of collaborating with the Germans and was sentenced to be shot in the back, has been executed. Caruso was shot in the back of the head by a squad of the police force which he once commanded. The execution took place at Fort Bravetta, about 10 miles outside Rome, with only a few officials present.
