NOTEB OH THE RUNNING Hunting Mac gave an Improved per form - ance to win the Hlkutaia Hurdles, beingtaken to the lead entering the back and carrying on In the straight to withstand the challenge or Wtldore on the rails, sir Fox went a good race for third, trier being prominently placed throughout, while Lucky Alex, who beat the balance of the Held home, showed definite promise In this department. Hunting Mac waa taken to the lead entering the back stretch, and across the top was Joined by Besiege and Varer Flspne. Here Sir Fox, Lucky Alex and Wildore were the closest of the others, and Hunting Mac led to the turn a couple of lengths out from Besiege, Sir Fox, Lucky Alex, Aero King and Wildore, w.k* was commencing a forward move on i'v* rails. Once over the last fence Wildore challenged Hunting Mac, but the latter held on to beat him by a neck, with sir Fox three parts or a length away. Lucky Alex was fourth, followed by Our Nation, Besiege and Sir Isaacs. Pitman, rider of Sund, sustained a fractured arm, and Walsh, rider of Peter Douglas, is believed to have fractured hit Jaw. Both were removed to hospital. Seaflre was a linn favourite for the First Trial Plate, but he had little to spare in an exciting linlsh with Lord Theio, who railed only by a nose to catch the ravourite on the post. Lord Theio. who drew wide out. began smartly, and led in the first furlong from Seahre, Victory Vaals, Payacre, Bonny Raf and Jovial Lad. Seallre was taken to the Tront across the top and led here from Benny Bar, Jovial Lad, Lord Theio, Payacre and Tower Lady. There was little alteration as they tuixied Tor home, Seaflre being Joined by Lord Theio at the distance, and In a blanket finish Seaflre got the verdict by a nose rrom Lord Theio, with Bonny Baf a length and a-hair away. Payacre beat the others home. Lord Luck, after being well placed fn the running In the Stewards’ Hack, stayed on well to beat Taverttside and Bournemouth, both or whom finished well. Hunting Camp, after attempting an end-to-end success, ran wide at the turn, and faded out fn the later stages. Hunting Camp and Tavernside were smartest to begin, Hunting Camp leading along the back from Lord Luck, Pink Shell, Flying Eagle and Argovie. There was little alteration across the top, Hunting Camp showing the way to the turn from Lord Luck, Pink Shell, Argovie, Our Joy and Tavernside. Hunting Camp swung wide at the turn. Lord Luck came through as they straightened up and he carried on to get the verdict by a length from Tavernside, with Bournemouth a similar distance away. Argovie weakened Into fourth, in front Of Rampede and Pink Shell.

Air Port Bpringa Surprise Airport sprang a surprise in the President's Handicap, when he led practically rrom end to end and returned over a score on the win machine. Recent track trials had indicated that Night comedy would be the elect of the stable, and though'he went a useful race the best he could manage was a close fourth. Babrow and Billy Peach shaped meritoriously, lo gain the minor places. Sir Dingle, after a check along the back, was never going like a winner. Airport and Babrow led past the stand, Airport running past Babrow as they went out of the straight and leading along the back from Babrow, BlUy Peach, sir Dingle, Full Hand. La Flllette and Betterman. Airport was still In charge as they turned Tor home from Billv Peach and Babrow, with Betterman and Sir Dingle the closest of the others. Airport held on nicely to win by three parts of a length from Babrow, with Billy Peach a similar distance away. Night Comedy was fourth, followed by La Flllette and Sir Dingle. Mercurial led rrom end to end to win tha First Division or the Second Trial Plfte. Farly she was followed bv General Burliegh, Leigh Hark and Convalleria, and led into the straight rrom Playfellow. General Burleigh * and Leigh Hark. Nothing had a chance with the winner at the end and she won by half a length rrom General Burleigh, with Leigh Hark a head away. Playfellow was fourth and Water Flight was next. There was a big surprise in the Second Division when Home Again emulated the example or Mercurial, to stage an end to end success and return over hair a century on the win machine and nearly a score Tor a place. He was followed along the back bv Highland View. Advance Wage and Princess Doria. Home Again was slllf clear at the turn and he went on to win easily by two and a-half lengths, rrom Princess Doria, who was a length in Tront of Embassy.
