GENERAL FREYBERG
CONDITION REPORTED GOOD
WELLINGTON, Friday A cablegram from Mr Churchill concerning Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Freyberg, V.C., was read by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, in the House of lives last night. Mr Churchill said that after the news of General Freyberg’s new injury he asked for a special report from General Sir Harold Alexander, which he now forwarded to Mr Fraser. General Alexander’s report was as follows: “My consulting surgeon has seen General Freyberg and reports that his condition is good and that he expects he will be able to return to duty in one month.” General Freyberg himself has telegraphed to say that he is getting on well and expects to be back with his division within the medical estimate.
