CAR HITS BRIDGE
OCCUPANT KILLED FOUR OTHERS INJURED (By TelegTapr.—Press Assoclstlon) MASTERTON, Thursday A man was fatally injured and four others received injuries when at 11 o’clock last night a car struck the Pariwhaiti Stream bridge at Westmere, eight miles from Masterton. The victims were: Killed Mr Arthur tVUJIam Pike, aged 42, of Masterton, married, with five children. Injured Mr Evan Critchley Brenkley, owner of the car; fractured left leg. Mr Norman Percival Chestennan, of Masterton, scalp wound and fractured thigh. Mr Gordon Sutherland McKay, of Masterton, dislocated right hip. Mr Ronald Norman Grantham, of Masterton, head injuries. Mr Pike died in hospital from his injuries. The car was wrecked. The four injured men are in the Masterton Hospital.
