Copyright) (Received Sept. 19, 1 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 18 “The time for a great showdown in western Europe has come,” says the Daily Express’ military correspondent. “The pause before an all-out assault against Germany, which has lasted three weeks, is now ending. The Allies have reached the position where the full weight of seven armies can be launched against the Reich. “The signal was the airborne army’s landing, because it mean that Field Marshal Montgomery’s supply situation was sufficiently solved for him to attack in strength to support and link up with the skymen.”
