REMAND GRANTED

ALLEGED THEFTS When he appeared before Messrs M. M. Shaw and J. H. Gittos, J’s.P., in the Hamilton Police Court today John Leonard Moody, aged 30, of Hamilton, was remanded until Thursday on the application of SeniorSergeant A. G. McHugh. Accused was charged with the theft of a wristlet watch, valued at £5 10s, on June 16, and of Air Force articles, valued at £ll ss, on September 16. Mr A. L. Tompkins, who represented accused, asked for bail, which was allowed in one security of £IOO. Senior-Sergeant McHugh asked that it be a substantial sum as he believed that accused might • abscond. He understood that accused, a married man with four children, had intended to be married on Thursday. It was alleged that he was an absentee from the Air Force.
