MEAT RATIONING

PROVISION FOR ANIMALS Suitable meat products in the noncoupon class, including bones, are being made available for feeding domestic pets, said the Minister of Supply, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, in a letter received by the Auckland branch of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Several proprietary foods were also being made available, continued the Minister. In addition, arrangements were being made to retrieve portions of carcases which were not normally available for sale. The whole matter had been discussed with representatives of the New Zealand Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and it was anticipated that the arrangements would prove adequate.
