MORE BOYS REQUIRED
VEGETABLE PROJECTS GOOD CAMP ACCOMMODATION
About 40 more Hamilton boys are required for work on the Koromatua vegetable growing project, according to an officer of the Manpower Office in Hamilton. He said that transport difficulties were insuperable at present, and the Agricultural Department, which controlled the scheme at Koromatua, had as an alternative provided a well-equipped camp on the property, under the charge of a competent man. The camp already had 13 boys in occupation, and a further 27 had been booked up for entrance at once. The camp had accommodation for 90 boys, so at least another 40 boys were required. Parents could be assured that their sons would be under efficient care, and that the work they would be engaged on was interesting, not too tedious, and returning a reasonable rate of payment, while workers would be performing a very useful and patriotic work. The employment offered would last for several weeks.
