FRENCH RAID ON NICE

GERMAN OFFICERS KILLED NEW YORK, Jan. 14 French Commandos from Corsica are reported to have raided Nice, on the south coast of France and about 20 miles from the Italian frontier, says the Berne (Switzeralnd) correspondent of the New York Times. They threw grenades into a restaurant serving Geiman officers, wounding several, and then returned, without challenge. The Gestapo made many arrests and threaten reprisals. The action may mark the turning point of the war for the French, since it is taken as an indication of further French participation in hostilities.
