Mrs S. J. Bennett and Miss Edna Bennett, Hamilton, have returned from a holiday at Wairoa. Mrs A. B. White, Hamilton, is spending a holiday at Thames. Mrs A. L. Pearson and Miss Coraiie Pearson, Hamiltpn, have returned from a holiday at Raglan. Mrs D. R. Welch, who has been visiting Masterton, has returned to Taupiri. Mrs A. B. Galbraith, Ngaruawahia, is visiting Waihi.
Mrs J. D. Edgecombe, Hamilton, has returned from a holiday at • Waihi. Mrs W. Whitehead, Hamilton, is spending a three-weeks’ vacation at Mount Maunganui. Mrs L. Pithie, Hamilton, is spending a holiday at Waihi. Miss Doreen Uren, Hamilton, has been visiting Christchurch and rimaru. Miss Pamela Welch, T'aupiri, is pending a holiday at Christchurch. A new National Service regulation nakes provision for girls of 17 years 1 age working as land girls on reatives’ farms to join the Women's Land S'ervice. Previously the mininum age was 18 years. Five Wren dietitians have been .ippointed to act in an advisory capacity in the preparation of food for f all Canadian naval ships and estabj lishments. All were trained and ■ experienced dietitians before entering the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Service. Theuduty of these officers will be to see that the men get a balanced and varied diet. Clothing manufacturers in Britain 1 are trying to predict the post-war . tastes of women who are now in uni- | form; to estimate the needs of Euro- ! pean countries for the re-estaolish-I ment of Britain’s textile export trade..
