REPATRIATED PRISONERS MEN FROM WAIKATO DISTRICT (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON. Sunday Members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force previously reported prisoners of war and now repatriated and safe in Egypt include the following from the Waikato District. Watt (Hautapu). DRIVER ANTHONY EDWARDS Mr and Mrs P. A. Edwards, of Gordonton, have received official advice that one of their sons, Driver Anthony (Tony) Edwards, who has been a prisoner of war since he was captured nearly two years ago on the island of Crete, has been repatriated, and it is understood he is now at Alexandria. Educated at the Hamilton Technical High School, Driver Edwards joined the staff of Atta Taxis, Hamilton, and on the out-b-eak of war he was among the first to enlist. He left New Zealand with the Second Echelon. His wife and child reside in Christchurch. His brother is serving in the Pacific area. PRIVATE F. L. ELLIOTT Private Frank Leslie Elliott, son of Mrs B. Elliott, of Galloway Street, and the late Mr Barton Elliott, has been repatriated, according to advice received in Hamilton. Private Elliott was reported seriously wounded in April, 1941, and was missing for five months before being reported a prisoner of war in a hospital in Athens. He was later taken to Germany.
