CLOSER FRIENDSHIP
BRITAIN AND ARGENTINA
LONDON, Sept. 28
A reply to statement issued by the British Foreign Office about Argentina’s neutrality has been issued by the Argentina Government.
The statement, which was broadcast, says: “The Argentina Government shares the British Government’s desire to continue the longestablished friendship and commercial intercourse between the two countries. It has always investigated complaints and taken any necessary steps to punish anyone attempting to prejudice its relations with other countries. No known act of this nature has occurred recently and it is regrettable that such stories are propagated. The Argentina Government reaffirms its unshakable determination to seek even closer relationship with Great Britain.”
