WEATHER CHANGES

WELCOME IMPROVEMENT

The first brilliantly sunny morning of the month was experienced in Hamilton when bright sunshine and a comparatively calm atmosphere following a frost of 3 degrees made a pleasant contrast to the fortnight’s wet weather just concluded. A drop in temperatures followed the wind changing to the south yesterday and last night was decidedly cool. The barometer was steady this morning at 30.25 in.

A drop of 2 inches since yesterday saw the Waikato River level remain about 8 feet above normal. Despite the discoloured appearance the river still bears, housholders have found no variation in the clearness of the water running from their taps, thanks to the treatment at the pumping station.
