TWO WARS TO FIGHT

AMERICAN APPREHENSIONS (Received Sept. 25, 1 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 24 Mr Churchill’s declaration of Britain’s determination to fight in the Pacific has not entirely disposed of American apprehensions, said Colonel F. W. Knox, Secretary to the Navy, when addressing a press conference in London. “You are thoroughly aware of the European war but you are not nearly so well aware of the equally great war going on a long way from you,” he said. “I think tne reverse is true of the Americans. Both situations cught to be corrected. “Not V’ng would be more disturbing to America’s growing confidence in British relationship than for us to feel that once Hitler is disposed of you would feel the job is done and that the rest can be left to us That must not happen. It is up to the British press to see that it does not happen.”
