RAIDS OX CONTINENT LONDON, Sept. 23 Marauders attacked the airfield at Yonches, Normandy. The Morlaix airfield in Brittany was bombed by Whiil winds and two attacks were made by Typhoon bombers on the Poulmic airfield near Brest. Mitchells bombed airstrip targets at Rouen and Typhoons attacked the harbour entrance at Wemeldinge, and shipping off the Dutch coast. MOTORIST FINED Pleading guilty of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor vehicle in Grey Street on September 18, Edvard Alexander Page, aged 35, manager of Waikato Bitumen Company. Limited, was fined £ls by Mr S. L. Paterson. S.M. in the Magistrate’s Court. Hamilton today. SHORT WEIGHT COAL Frankton Supply Stores. Limited, were charged in the Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, today with supplying coal short of the weight purported to be sold. The prosecution showed that the deficiency in the weight of 29 sacks delivered to 12 customers averaged lb per customer. A fine of £lO was imposed, the magistrate remarking that it looked as if an employee had been at fault. TOMORROW’S VOTING PAPERS WELLINGTON, Friday The Chief Electoral Officer advises that a black cross on the back of the electoral ballot paper indicates that this paper is to be placed in the electoral ballot box, and is there to distinguish it from the licensing poll paper.
