GERMANS’ HUGE LOSSES (Received Sept. 8, 1 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 7 A special Russian communique states: The Russians in all sectors from July 5 to September 5 destroyed 5729 planes, 8400 tanks, 5182 guns, and over 28,000 motor vehicles. The German dead totalled over 420,000 and those killed or wounded totalled at least 1,500,000. The Russians captured 1041 tanks, 2188 guns, 5382 machineguns, 7853 motor vehicles and 38,6(T0 prisoners. The Rome radio said that a German aerial reconnaissance reported vast Russian troops concentrations in the Caucasus, indicating that a largescale attack is being prepared.
