PIC ; RACE MEETING
About 50 horses participate in the Saturday arternoon meets of tne Te Awamutu Light Horse Association, and it is expteted that most or them will be competing with horses rrom other districts at the picnic race meeting on Saturday, July 31, at the VValpa Racing Club’s course, the net proceeds or the meeting are to go to the Red Cross Society. Eleven events appear on the programme, including two confined to lady riders, two trotting handicaps, and a pony event. Tne b:g events or the day are the Light Horse cup. nine furlongs, and the Hunters’ Steeplechase Handicap about 2f miles. Nominations for all events close with the secretary. Mr L. A. Johnston.
