RAT ATTACKS BABY
SAVAGE BITES SUFFERED (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Friday Awakened by screams from their 10-months-old baby, Mr and Mrs E. V. Edwards, of Oriental Parade, found the child bleeding from wounds on the left hand and face. It had been savagely attacked by a rat. The fingers had been bitten almost to the bone and there were bites round the left eye. The baby is being treated at a hospital where a doctor stated that the child was fortunate not to have lost the fingers of the left hand. The rat’s teeth marks were clearly defined.
