QUALITY OF FLOUR
BAKERS VOICE COMPLAINTS (By Telegraph—Press Association) WANGANUI, Friday The West Coast, North Island Master Bakers’ Association carried the following motion at a meeting yesterday: “ That the association views with grave concern the very unsatisfactory condition of flour being delivered from emergency flour stocks, notwithstanding many assurances by the Wheat and Flour Controller that such flour would be released at regular intervals and before its quality deteriorated, and that the matter be taken up immediately by the authorities. Some brands of flour are held in emergency stores for from seven to eleven months. Unless a more satisfactory system is adopted members of this association will in future accept only flour supplied by direct shipment from the mills. The motion also urged that the final date of manufacture be shown on each sack of flour.
