BEEF IN SHORT SUPPLY The auctioneers report as follows on the Frankton stock sale yesterday: Sheep: A fair yam mg- of iat sheep was permed. The sale opened at prices equal to last week's rates but eased slightly as the sale progressed. Cattle: A very light offering of ox beer was yarded and values advanced on last week. Cow and heifer beer was also In short supply with values remaining steady at last week's quotations. Y'eal was offered In good numbers with quality sorts selling freely. Pigs: a large yarding of pigs came forward. Competition for baconers was good while porkers were firm at late rates. The market for store pigs was slightly easier. Quotations: — Sheep: Heavy wethers, 27s to 295; medium, 24s 6d to 265; lighter, 22s lo 235; fat ewes, 13s 9d to 15s 9d; prime heavy fat lambs, 27s to 28s; prime lambs, 25s to 26s 6d; medium, 22s to 23s 9d; light, 18s to 21s.
