NOT GUILTY DESTROYED As the result nr injuries received when he fell in the Tuakau stakes at the Franklin Racing Club’s meeting at Te Rapa on Saturday, the two-year-old Not Guilty has been destroyed. Not Guilty, who was by s.'li-itor-General fmm I.ueinda, by Martian, was owned by Mrs A. McGregor Grant, and trained by R. s. Raghy. The youngster .was purchased at the Trentham sales last year Tor 27n guineas. Another juvenile, a three-quarter brother to Representative, and owned by Mr W. S. Goosman. M.P., was destroyed at Takaninl yesterday as the result or injuries received from h fall while being exercised. JOCKEYS' LEADERSHIP Th» contest between W. J. Broughton and XX’. F. Ellis fur the jockeys’ premiership is attracting much attention. Ellis failed to ride a winner at Gore, while Broughton, with two wins at Taranaki,, again drew level with him, their totals now being 32 each. They are a long way ahead of the third on the list, W. Hooton, with 13 wins. Ellis was unlucky ;in that he could not stay for the second day at- Stratford, as he would have been on at least one winner, Wee Bun. Broughton and Ellis will be at Trentham on j Saturday to renew the duel.
