CHILD DROWNED

BOAT LEAVES MOORINGS (By Telegraph—Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday. When the boat in which he was playing came adrift from its moorings a boy aged seven years was drowned in the Tongaporutu Rfver about 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon after he jumped, evidently in fright, into fairly deep water. He was John Conroy, son of Mr and Mrs John Conroy, sharemilkers, Ahiti. He had been playing with two of his sisters, aged about 10 and 11, who were nearby when the accident occurred.
