SUBMARINE SUCCESSES RUGBY, Dec. 13 The Admiralty, in announcing further successes reported by His Majesty's submarines operating in the Mediterranean againct the enemy’s supply lines in Northern Africa, says ihcso are in addition to the successful actions announced on Saturday. In one of these engagements an armed merchaht cruiser was torpedoed and sunk. Another submarine found a large enemy tanner lying with her engines stopped and partly burned out following an attack by aircraft of the Fleet Air Arm. The tanker was destroyed by a torpedo from the submarine. Off the coast of Tripolitania two supply vessel, were intercepted and attacked. One ship of medium size was torpedoed and blew up. The other, a smaller vessel, was destroyed by gunfire. In addition to these known successes three torpedo hits were scored on an enemy convoy. Two supply ships and three destroyers were attacked within 30 miles of Naples. It was not possible to observe the full results of this attack.. His Majesty’s submarines have also attacked shipping in the enemy’ Tripolitania anchorages. At Curat cne submarine came to the surface within gun range, opening lire on supply vessels. Two were damaged. At Mas Ah a submarine torpedoed ammunition barges lying alongside the pier, A hit was followed by heavy explosion?.
