Der. 12 No official statement has been made in London about the unshackling of German prisoners of war since the Government's announcement of the decision to remove the manacles on December 12. It is known that German prisoners in Britain and Canada had their manacles removed as usual on the night of December 11 and they have not been replaced. The Berlin correspondent of the Zurich newspaper Neue Zuercher Zeitung says Germany has agreed to unfetter prisoners of war.
