SPRING OFFENSIVE ON THE HOME FRONT “Brush the cobwebs off your National Savings Pass Book” states the message incorporated in a National Savings advertisement appearing in today’s issue. With an average of I 50,000 deposits weekly many of the j 300,000 accounts are lying dormant j and it is pointed out that only an ; active national savings account is on i ACTIVE service. Hamilton has 6148 j national savers and their investments ! over the last few weeks are as follows: —Last week in August £853 6s ! 2d; first week in September £2437 3s j 8d; second week in September £1472 5s 2d. The advertisement calling i upon the people of Hamilton to back I up the fighting forces with a spring j offensive has been sponsored as pari 1 of their war effort by two wellknown Hamilton firms, “Burts” ■ Fashion House and Clearys Limited, Men’s and Boys’ Outfitters.
