MURDERS IN MELBOURNE
ARREST OF AMERICAN (United Pres? \ssn.—tier, i el. Copyright) MELBOURNE, May 24 The soldier taken into custody in connection with recent murders is an American soldier. He will probably be tried by court-martial for the murder of two women. The two victims mentioned are Mrs Pauline Thompson, aged 32, and Miss Gladys Hosking. aged 41. The court-martial will be composed of United States Army officers. The Chief of the Victorian Police states that no charge has yet been laid against the soldier now in custody. as investigations are still proceeding in close co-operation with the American Army nut nontes.
