VICTORY IN 1942

ALL POSSIBLE VIGOUR LONDON DEMONSTRATIONS (United Tress Assn.— Elec. Tel. copyright) (Received May 25, noon) LONDON, May 24 At a crowded meeting in the London Hippodrome, organised by the Daily Express, a resolution was passed welcoming the Government’s declaration that it would open a second front. The resolution added: “This meeting declares itself in favour of attacking Germany at the earliest possible moment with all possible vigour and strength, believing that in such a policy lies the promise of victory.” It is estimated that 50,000 people attended a Communist demonstration in Trafalgar Square and acclaimed the demand for a second front. At the annual conference of the Communist Party a resolution was passed urging the immediate opening of a second front, in order to secure victory in 1942.
