Attlee, deputy-Prime Minister, speaking at Dundee today, said: “We cannot foresee what may be the results of the spring and summer offensive on the Eastern front. We are in a critical year and we will not win without severe struggles and great sacrifices. But we know that potential power is now on our side and that we shall have material means of victory with these immense resources coming in. * “One great achievement in this country is that we have come through the difficult time of waiting. It had been a very testing time for our troops, because they have been kept training and waiting. The time will come when the defensive will be changed to an offensive.’
