BICYCLE STANDS
HIGH SCHOOL REQUIREMENTS j ADEQUATE SHELTER TRENCHES ■ Discussion on the provision of i further accommodation for bicycles at the school took place at the monthly meeting of the Board of Governors of the Hamilton High School yesterday afternoon and a resolution was passed to the effect i that the architects, Messrs Edgecumbe and White, should be instructed to report to the board on the provision of 109 additional bicycle stands on a site to be .chosen ; by the headmaster, Mr H. D. Tait. : Mr Tait said that 193 stands had i been provided and there was a ; shortage of 109. Resolutions of thanks were passed to all those parents, friends and boys of the school who had assisted in the provision of adequate trench accommodation for the pupils in the event , of an air raid. Mr C. L. Mac Diarmid, j in the chair, said it was considered | that the accommodation provided ! was sufficient to meet the require- ! ments of the school, while at Sonning I Hostel the dug-outs and slit trenches provided were quite sufficient to I accommodate the boarders, j Those present were Mrs W. Earle, ! Messrs C. L. Mac Diarmid, chairman, J. R. Fitz Gerald, J. Terry, F. A. Snell, H. M. Hammond, J. Primrose, R. English (secretary) and the headmaster, Mr Tait.
