LEFT HIGH AND DRY
SCOW WASHED ASHORE (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday The auxiliary scow Te Aroha with a general cargo for Westport ran ashore at North Beach, Westport, at 5.30 a.m. today. The scow was off the Westport harbour in a thick mist. She was caught ii> the breakers and washed ashore, to be left high and dry by the receding tide. The ship, which was in the charge of Captain | T. Sawyers, was not damaged. An unsuccessful attempt to refloat the scow was made at high tide, but failed. Another attempt will be made tomorrow.
