HEAVY BLOWS BY AMERICANS
ATTACKS ON JAPANESE-OCCUPIED ISLANDS GOOD RESULTS IN WAKE AND MARCUS ISLANDS LONDON, March 25 Further heavy blows by American sea and air forces against Japanese-occupied islands in the Pacific have been announced. The first attack, which was made by a strong naval force and bombers from an aircraft-carrier, was made on Wake Island and good results were achieved. Later the naval force attacked Marcus Island, between ake Island and the Japanese mainland in the north-west Pacific, and again the attack was successful. The Japanese have occupied the Andaman Islands, in the Bay of Bengal. There is little change on the other fronts.
