POTENTIAL FIFTH COLUMN (United Press Assn. —Elec. Tei. cooyrUrnt) LONDON, March 24 Although Government officials assert that 99 per cent of the Ceylonese people are intensely loyal to Britain, says the Colombo correspondent of the Daily Express, informed observers claim that substantial numbers are lukewarm, also that a sprinkling are anti-British and potential fifth columnists. However, there are complaints that Britain has not encouraged large-scale recruitment of Ceylonese and there is a growing public demand for an increasing cumber of local combatant units.
