TAKANINI TRIALS
KRAAL SHAPES WELL

An excellent trial over nine furlongs by the Herries Memorial Cup candidate, Kraal, was the Teature of the work on the outside grass at Takanini this morning, Kraal working in fine style to complete her task in 1.56, the last mile in 1.42 and the last six furlongs, with Minlto, whom she defeated by a length in 1.16 3-5. Six furlongs in 1.15 found Bronwen and Gav Miss both going well and they should give a good account of themselves in the sprint on Saturday. Miss Gay, who disappointed at Te Rapa, showed that there was little amiss with her by running a smart five furlongs in 1.2. The best hair-mile was recorded by the two-year-old Bold and Gay, who ran 4us, Water Vixen also pleasing to record 49 2-5 s and Kiatere Maati sus. Sleepy Fox ran 50 3-ss. but was under a good bold and could have done much better. other Gallops were: Four Turlongs: Ever True, 525; River Plate and Heroic Star, 525; Merry May, 54 2-ss. Five furlongs: First Edition and Eagle Hawk, 1.3 2-5; Court Favourite, 1.2 1-5; Beau Vaals and Representative. 1-3; Gold Money Song (on the plough), 1.3 2-5. Six furlongs: Gay Jax, 1.17 3-5; Proud Fox and Route March (on the plough), 1.19. ANCWER TO CORRESPONDENT The earnings or Lou Rosa to date amount to £6530 and those or Beau Leon to £5440. As a two-year-old Lou Rosa won £1225; at three years, £2975, and this season, £2330, the comparative figures of Beau Leon being £295, £2270 and £2875.
