VI-MAX XMAS RECIPES These recipes, which have been used by thousands of women with success in past years, were contributed by Mavis Larcombe, the Christchurch Gas Company's well-known culinary expert. VI-MAX XMAS PUDDING 3oz VI-MAX. 3oz. white flour or fine wholemeal. 2oz breaacrumos, 6oz suet. 4oz currants. 4oz sultanas. 4oz seeded raLslnS. 4oz brown sugar, i teaspoon nutmeg. 1 teaspoon spice. 1 desspn treacle, 2oz almonds. J teaspoon salt. 1 level teaspoon soda, 4 tablespoons milk. 2 eggs. Method : Prepare fruit and mix with ail dry ingredients. Mix with beaten eggs in which the treacle has been dissolved. Add soda dissolved in milk and put into a greased basin. Cover and steam at least 4 hours. Mrs A.W.H. writes : “We are big eaters of VI-MAX and I find it better than any cereal I have ever had. 1 first used it when the plam pudding and Christmas Cake recipes were In the paper I made both and they were the last word in perfection. Grated rind of 1 lemon. 2 tablespoons wine or brandy. oinnoo : miner and sugar. add beaten eggs alternately sifted flour and VI-MAX. Add prepared fruit and lastly brandv. Beat well; bake in greased tin for 3J hours. In the above recipes coarse or fine VI-MAX mav be used. Both grades of VI-MAX are sold by all stores in 31b packets and 71b bags.
