break-up ceremonies “You do not go to school to learn mathematics, French and English; you go to learn what is true and what is false,” said Mr W. H. Cocker, president of the Auckland University College Council, in his address to the Hamilton High School pupils at their annual break-up ceremony this morning. Thtfre was a large gathering of parents and friends. Mr C. L. Mac Diarmid, chairman of the Board of Governors, presided. The school sang three songs and the gathering joined in the school song, “Forty 'f ears On.” This year’s dux was J. Ziman. Mr Cocker presented the prizes. Technical High School At the break-up ceremony of the Hamilton Technical High School yesterday, the principal speaker was Mr A. M. Rosie, Chief Postmaster at Hamilton. Mr Carrick | Nisbet, chairman of the Board oi Managers, presided. Proceedings i opened with the singing of two song, by the girls of the school, wnich w followed by the presentation by r W. Fraser, the principal, of his a. nual report. Prizes were then prt sented by Mr Rosie. There was a large attendance of parent* and friends.
